The daughters of Jean Sibelius sold Ainola to the Finnish State in 1972. The building was renovated and opened as a museum in 1974. The museum is maintained by the Ainola Foundation. A member of the Sibelius family is on the board of the foundation.
Ainola is open during May-September, from Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. The opening hours can be checked on the web pages of the Ainola Foundation, www.ainola.fi.
The price of admission includes the services of competent guides. Separate guidance can be arranged for groups.
Ainola is considered to be one of the best preserved and maintained home museums of all the great composers.
