From the ticket desk at Ainola you walk uphill to the house, following the same route that would have been taken by Sibelius and his family, and by visitors such as Leevi Madetoja, Erkki Melartin, Jussi Björling, Thomas Beecham, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin and – after Sibelius’s death – by Herbert von Karajan and Birgit Nilsson.
You enter the house through the porch where Sibelius received the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1955.
From the vestibule you enter the drawing-room.
